UKULELE PERFORMANCE REMINDER

March 2, 2010

Dear Parents:

This is just a reminder about the upcoming Ukuleles Unlimited concert featuring massed elementary, middle, and secondary ensembles from Victoria schools on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 3rd, from 7:00 to approximately 8:30 pm at the UNIVERSITY OF VICTORIA CENTRE AUDITORIUM.

Please make sure your child is there BY 6:30 pm. There will be Campus View teachers waiting by the side door. The side door is near the front entrance and is to be used for all students that are performing. Parents please take your child up to their seat and sign in with either Ms. Johnson, Miss Johnson or Mme Racine-Tran. You will be able to see your child from the audience and need to pick your child up at his or her seat following the concert. Remember to sign your child out with one of the teachers as well. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the evening concert. Any help with packing up ukuleles and carrying the boxes to the car would be welcomed. Make sure that your child does not leave with a school ukulele as they need to all be returned to the school for Music Classes the next day.

Please make sure your child is wearing black pants or skirts and a white shirt/blouse for the performance. Dark shoes preferably. No high heels (they will be going up and down risers and steep stairs). Please refrain from wearing hair spray or perfumes/colognes as some students and teachers are allergic or asthmatic to strong scents. Also please remind your child of Campus View’s Pillars (Respect, Responsibility, Co-operation and Safety) and performance and audience etiquette.

There will be a rehearsal at UVIC on the morning of the concert. Students will be leaving Campus View School at 9:00 a.m. and walking over. So please be at school on time. They will be returning to the school between 11:30 and noon. Please have them dress appropriately (umbrella, boots, coats…) for walking in any type of weather.

Reserved seating tickets are available, at a cost of $7.00, from the University Centre Box Office. They can be ordered by phone (721-8480), by internet (www.auditorium.uvic.ca) or purchased in person. Some tickets may also be sold the night of the concert.

We appreciate your support for the music program and hope that you will be able to attend the concert.

Sincerely,

Ms.Coralee Johnson

(Campus View Music Teacher)
